Boguchansky LPK

OOO Boguchansky LPK

Boguchansky LPK's main asset is the state of the art sawmilling production facility located in the Boguchan region of Krasnoyarsk, on the Southern bank of the Angara River.

The facility was originally constructed by a Russian-Dutch joint venture in 1992, and then had a design capacity of some 50,000 m3 of kiln dried sawnwood per annum. However, the facility was mothballed and made inoperative in the year 2000 and RusForest acquired the company in March 2007.

The new management of Boguchansky LPK stripped out the old sawmilling line, installed new HewSaw equipment, rebuilt all log processing equipment, rebuilt the kilns and overhauled all of the power and heat utilities. The new sawmill was brought into operation in October 2008, with a base capacity of 100,000 m3 of kiln dried sawnwood annually.

The Boguchansky LPK sawmill is ideally well situated to process logs in the Krasnoyarsk region in part due to the significant log-flow which, in effect, passes the factory en route to the rail terminal at Karabula. Furthermore, both the Federal and Regional governments have approved the extension of the railway line to the town of Bogouchan. The completion of this 40 kilometre line will greatly enhance Boguchansky LPK's infrastructure access.

The addition of the HewSaw line at Boguchansky marked a significant step towards achieving RusForest's profitability target of producing over 300,000 m3 of kiln dried sawnwood per year.

TSLKK

TSLKK is located in close proximity to Boguchansky LPK, and serves as the main source of raw material to the sawmill. The company is a holder of a forest lease with 112,400 m3 yearly cutting rights and covering an area of 48,695 hectares. 107,800 m3 of the AAC relates to softwood and the composition of tree species is larch 50%, pine 25% and spruce 12%. The company has made investments in harvesting and transport equipment with a capacity to harvest some 160,000 m3 per year. The balance is harvested in areas where third parties sell "on the root timber".

Around 45% of Boguchansky's total sawlog requirements are met by supplies from TSLKK, with the remaining sawlogs being purchased on the open market.
