Boguchansky LPK

Boguchansky LPK's main asset is the state of the art sawmilling production facility located in the Boguchan region of Krasnoyarsk, on the Southern bank of the Angara River.

The facility was originally constructed by a Russian-Dutch joint venture in 1992, and then had a design capacity of some 50,000 m3 of kiln dried sawnwood per annum. However, the facility was mothballed and made inoperative in the year 2000 and RusForest acquired the company in March 2007.

The new management of Boguchansky LPK stripped out the old sawmilling line, installed new HewSaw equipment, rebuilt all log processing equipment, rebuilt the kilns and overhauled all of the power and heat utilities. The new sawmill was brought into operation in October 2008, with a base sawnwood capacity of 100,000 m3 annually.

The sawmill at Boguchansky LPK is well situated in order to process logs that are passing the plant on its way to the railway terminal in Karbula. The federal government is currently building a bridge over the nearby Angara River, which is estimated to be completed in 2011 or 2012. The bridge will enable a smoother supply of sawlogs across the river throughout the year. Furthermore, both the Federal and Regional governments have approved the extension of the railway line to the town of Bogouchan. The completion of this 40 kilometre line will enhance Boguchansky LPK's infrastructure access.

RusForest Angara

RusForest Angara is located in close proximity to Boguchansky LPK, and serves as the main source of raw material to the sawmill. The company is a holder of a forest lease with 112,400 m3 yearly cutting rights and covering an area of 48,695 hectares. 107,800 m3 of the AAC relates to softwood and the composition of tree species is larch 50%, pine 25% and spruce 12%. The company has made investments in harvesting and transport equipment with a capacity to harvest some 160,000 m3 per year. The balance is harvested in areas where third parties sell "on the root timber".

Large parts of Boguchansky's total sawlog requirements shall be met by supplies from RusForest Angara, with the remaining sawlogs being purchased on the open market.

Sibartles, Kansky and Adar

Sibartles is the holder of a pine dominated forest lease, located approximately 80 km north of the Boguchansky LPK sawmill, with an Annual Allowable Cut (AAC) of 165,400 m3 and covering an area of 105,497 hectares. The remaining term of the forest lease is 43 years. Additionally, Sibartles owns harvesting and transportation equipment with a capacity to harvest and deliver approximately 30,000 m3 sawlogs per year.

Adar holds a pine-dominated forest lease located approximately 110 km north of the Boguchansky LPK sawmill, with an AAC of 262,700 m3 and covering an area of 110,343 hectares. The remaining term of the forest lease is 44 years. Kansky holds a larch-dominated forest lease, located approximately 170 km north of the Boguchansky LPK sawmill with an AAC of 207,900 m3 and covering an area of 109,493 hectares. The remaining term of the forest lease is 43 years.
