Logs

Parts of our annual harvest is sold unprocessed, as saw logs, both domestically and for export.

RusForest harvests greater volumes, and a certain percentage of logs have a larger diameter, than we are able to process internally. These saw log volumes are subsequently sold on the open market.

Under Russian Standards, coniferous saw logs are divided into domestic- and export quality logs: GOST 9463-88 and GOST 22298-76 respectively. The two GOSTs mainly differ on their limitations of defects per grade (knot diameter and concentration, log curvature, diameter decrease etc.).
